How is VASERlipo ™ different from traditional liposuction?
In traditional liposuction, the doctor makes an incision for the cannula, which moves back and forth to break up the fat cells from the tissues. Then a vacuum device will then suction out of the body and into a flask. This is a harsher process on the body and the healing process can take up to three weeks and have inflammation up to a month. With VASERlipo ™, the doctor uses a probe that transmits ultrasound energy to break up the fat gently. The vibration on the probe loosens the fat and emulsifies it within the fluid. The liquified fat is then drawn out, which results in minimal damage to surrounding tissues. Soreness and healing process can take up to a week.
How long do results last?
Like all fat removing procedures, the duration of your results depends on lifestyle and maintenance of the body after the surgery.
